Best way to freeze and thaw baked cupcakes

I made a dozen of carrot cupcakes tonight, but don't want to frost them with cream cheese frosting until Friday or Saturday. I thought I should freeze them until then, because simply refrigerating might not preserve them well.

According to What's the Best Way to Freeze Baked Cupcakes?, you can do any of the four methods:

  • "in a plastic zipper-lock bag with most of the air removed"
  • "in plastic wrap"
  • "in foil"
  • "in plastic wrap and foil" - recommended for long-term storage
The cupcakes should NOT have frosting when you freeze them.

To thaw the cupcakes, remove whatever you wrapped it with and place it on your countertop or table for one and a half hour.
